MISSION STATEMENT

Together, we are building community.

The PENSACOLA JEWISH FEDERATION helps support a network of social & humanitarian agencies in Pensacola, the U.S., Israel and communities around the world.  We strive to provide a common voice for our local Jewish community.

We are here for the children, the elderly and other Jews in our community & throughout the world.

We encourage you to enjoy being part of a dynamic Jewish community and invite the unaffiliated to learn all our community has to offer.

We strengthen the connection of all Jews to one another by nourishing Jewish identity, fellowship, community and continuity.

The PENSACOLA JEWISH FEDERATION is integral to the Jewish community in Pensacola and is a link in the Jewish chain around the world.

Who We Are

The Pensacola Jewish Federation’s mission is deeply rooted in fundamental Jewish precepts:  our responsibility to one another and our commitment to tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).

The Pensacola Jewish Federation, with the support of our community, helps fund social and humanitarian agencies and programs here in Pensacola, the US, Israel and 63 countries around the world.

The Pensacola Jewish Federation has been honored as one of the most successful small community fundraising & philanthropic organizations in the United States.  Our board and volunteers are committed to provide funding & programming designed to effectively meet the needs of the local community & Jews worldwide.

Our administrative office, located at 800 N. Palafox, is the home of the Pensacola Mosaic Collection.  This is a pictorial history and collection of artifacts from our past & present in the Pensacola Jewish community.

For more information about volunteering or accessing our services and support, please contact the Pensacola Jewish Federation offices at 850-434-7992 or penjfed@bellsouth.net.

What We Do

First and foremost, we raise money to support the social & economic vitality of Israel.

We support numerous programs and services which:

  • Help Jewish youth form lifelong connections to their Jewish roots through youth enrichment programs, summer camps, to include our local Camp Cadima, scholarships for Jewish camps, and Israel experience opportunities through the Leah and Jack Rosenbaum Gift of Israel Program and Oberstein Fund.
  • Offer adults meaningful exposure to Jewish life through education and speaker & film series.
  • Provide the elderly with support services.
  • Support Jewish students at UWF.
  • Integrate newcomers to Pensacola Jewish life.
  • Help Jews in worldwide humanitarian crises through rescue & relief efforts.
  • Aid immigration & absorption in Israel.
  • Supply critically needed health care services to the medically underserved in the former Soviet Union & Israel.
  • Support Israel’s social & economic vitality.
  • Support Project Arevim in bringing Israeli culture to Pensacola.
  • Support services to military members in our local community.

We work with Jewish institutions to better serve the local & global community:

  • We foster cooperation & collaboration among local Jewish organizations on programming & facility support.
  • We respond to the changing needs of our community with new initiatives that bring expanded programming to our Jewish community.
  • We partner with United Jewish Communities to meet Jewish challenges all over the world.
  • We give voice to your concerns and help present the Jewish perspective on local, national & international issues.
  • We support & administer Pensacola’s Mosaic Collection.
  • We foster & promote understanding between the Jewish community and the community at large.

We are the central source of info & referral for Pensacola’s Jewish community:

  • Whether you are a newcomer or native, our outreach program will help connect you to Pensacola’s Jewish community.

  • Our website offers immediate access to everything Jewish in Pensacola, national and local Jewish news, a community directory, a calendar of events and online donation.
